[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, what's up, again? I do hope you're well. My name is Mark and today we're checking out some more Reddit stories and if you do love a Reddit story why not consider and like subscribe maybe that notification bell too

[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Unless crack on what did days for a story much love guys now today's first story comes from practical drama 5-549 from the M.I.D.A.S. or here subreddit and says

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I.D.R.S. or the Telling My Husband, his fragile masculinity is cost-on-ass money and the husband responds

[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Back in late 2021 my husband Craig, male 41 and I female 44 welcomed our fourth child into the world

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_00]: As a result we needed to upgrade one of our cars to something larger

[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_00]: We decided to trade in my super reliable Toyota Rav4 but there's something bigger since I was the one who drove the kids around most often

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I was open and ready to embrace minivan life and was planning to buy something reliable and safe like a Honda or Kia

[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_00]: But Craig had his heart on an SUV in his mind minivans were too feminine

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_00]: So against my better judgment we ended up purchasing a used 2018 Mercedes GLS 450

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Mainly due to his insistence

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_00]: He argued that this car would offer similar space to the Kia Slash Honda minivans I wanted but with added luxury

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Since it was priced like a loaded Honda van we went ahead with it

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_00]: After two years I can safely say we made the wrong choice

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_00]: What the car does have good passenger space

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't seem to have as much cargo room as those minivans

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: A reliability has been junk

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: The car has had eight recalls during our ownership even when not recalled

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_00]: It spends too much time at the dealership because something always seems to be broken

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Some repairs have been covered under warranty but we still showed out over 9k maintenance not included

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_00]: The car hasn't even racked up that many miles

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Below I just some of the annoyances

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_00]: The shifting can be rough

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes I press on the gas and the car barely moves

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_00]: When it does, it's jerky

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_00]: The past few weeks the check engine light has been turning on randomly

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Numerous electronic issues

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Since the cars problems have stepped up in the past few weeks, I'm beyond fed up

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel safe driving is around with my kids

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And I've even started getting nightmares about it stranded in a cinema of nowhere

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I've always been playing this in claims that it's normal for the car to have some issues

[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_00]: 9k's worth?

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Fuck it, who?

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Without maintenance

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Making things worse somehow

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Rakes it in started developing issues lately

[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_00]: It has begun to refuse to start some mornings and will sometimes shed itself off

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to a stop sign or red light

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: On Saturday, I was supposed to drive our eldest with soccer game

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And then take my younger kids to the doctor's office

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_00]: When I turned on the Mercedes, it sounded very rough

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_00]: The engine light was on and the temperature reading was extremely wrong

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't bother risking it and end up oaring with a kid

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I told Craig about it that night

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_00]: He listened to first but when I suggested selling it

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_00]: He cut me off and said that he wouldn't get in a van just because I wanted that

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_00]: It was so combative and defensive the way he said it

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And because I was so tired from the day, I lashed out

[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_00]: We argued and it got heated and I ended up saying

[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Your fragile masculinity is costing our families so much money

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And retrospect, maybe my tone was harsh

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_00]: But he was being needlessly difficult

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I haven't really spoken much since then

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll also be oobring to work this week since I won't be touching that car

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm I, he are so

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Edit, I was wondering about the car condition

[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I've included a picture I took of it on Saturday when I started it up

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Engine light is on, it was saying the temperature was minus 12 Fahrenheit

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_00]: But it was really something like 60 Fahrenheit

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Fontx, those wondering this isn't the first instance of his masculinity being threatened by something

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Mine, he also refuses lip balm and purple dress shirts

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, the things

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: 9k and it still cause an issue you need to get rid of that shit

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not talking about the house but there, although that's up to you

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I can understand your frustration in this

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you want something that's reliable

[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_00]: That can carry your children safely

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And this vehicle is just not it

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So I can understand when you get pissed off about it

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_00]: A kind of red part of it

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_00]: When you sit about his car's been developing issue lately

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_00]: So maybe he's looking for some in for himself

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Swapping his car in at some point down the road

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Or because you don't know that

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But she's Tammy says I don't get it

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_00]: The other primary user of the proposed car and he has his own

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Even if you give it in and call the car womanly

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_00]: What's his insistence that is wife presumably a woman doesn't drive it

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_00]: OPC says we go on road trips and he usually drives

[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Also he'll sometimes use it to take the kids to school

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And that other activities

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And he doesn't want anyone confusing him with a soccer man

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It sounds so childish when I write it out and read it back to myself

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Your girl says so he's worried that someone will look at him and thinks he has a girly car

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Damn, he's a tool

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, look what he was saying

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_00]: He's a tool

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Hungry Traveler says I don't know

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_00]: A dad in a minivan with his wife and kids is clearly a virgin

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You're part of says my first date with my now husband

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I asked him what vehicle he drove

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_00]: He looked embarrassed and pointed out the window to a van

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Excitedly asked if it was a Pontiac Montana

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_00]: As I had fond memories of my old Montana

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_00]: It was

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_00]: He took me to see it and on the dash was a stack of coupons

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I knew in that moment that this man was the one I was going to marry

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_00]: The van and coupons were a major turn on

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: After this recording, I'm going to be coupon cutting and putting them in my front pocket

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_00]: When walking around town

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, lofty Chicago says add next who made fun of me for using coupons

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Until he saw how much I saved on one shopping trip

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And he was all bang now

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I know where you're rich

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, richer than him

[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Off topic here

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_00]: But just on the coupon thing

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I know we do some coupons in the UK

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Like our local supermarket

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Like the Tesco's vouchers and stuff like that

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember watching a program has some years back now

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Like all extreme coupons or something

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And some people have like folders of these things

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And they're going through them

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_00]: That the whole shopping like let's just for a safe example

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's $150 for all their shopping

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And they get it down to like $15 with all these coupons

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And like what?

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_00]: There's a common thing

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And it will mainly be based in America

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_00]: You have to let me know on that one

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I find that fascinating

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_00]: To like they always say

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_00]: There's two sides to every story

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_00]: husband comes in with their own post

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And says my wife showed me the post she made this morning

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So that I could see how people were reacting to her perspective

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I was honestly quite surprised by the comments

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Haha, sorry I asked there

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_00]: If I could make a follow up post to clarify my position

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Firstly, I wanted to emphasize that I did not buy a lemon

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't know

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_00]: As some people seem to think

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_00]: With the car inspected by mechanic before purchasing it

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And the car factory report we obtained was clean

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_00]: And understood that my wife, let's call it ava, would be the primary driver

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_00]: But I wanted to car with some ground clearance

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And all will drive since we sometimes drive along dirt roads

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_00]: When we go on vacation

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm renting a car for these instances didn't seem practical

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_00]: In my mind this requirement ruled out the Honda or Kia minivan

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Additionally, I feel that a minivan is unnecessary for us

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_00]: As we only have four children

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll admit that I have a personal bias against minivan

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Because they are exclusively mum cars

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Mercedes on the other hand has been expensive to repair

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And there's experience frequent problems

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But when it is fully operational, it's an excellent family cruiser

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Understand that it's unreliable

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think the idea of it's stranding my family in the middle of nowhere is a stretch

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Now onto the day of the argument

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I was at work on Saturday

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_00]: So I was unable to take the kids to their activities in appointments

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_00]: When Eva sent me a picture of the gauge cluster of Mercedes

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I did offer to come back home and drop off my car for her to use

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_00]: But she declined for two reasons

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Firstly, she didn't think it would have enough space

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a 2017 Chevy Impala

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_00]: So it has a lot of space

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And secondly, she was wary due to a minor stalling issue

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_00]: At that point we agreed that using a new rule was the best solution

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Saturday night I arrived home exhausted from work at the hospital

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_00]: All I wanted to do was eat dinner and catch up on the spurs match

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_00]: The argument happened around this point

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I did try to be supportive, however

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I still hold reservations about owning a mini van

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I felt that her comment about masculinity was both unhelpful and unnecessary

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Poor little poetic justice if you will

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_00]: But this morning when I was getting ready to take the kids to school in Daikai

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_00]: My impala wouldn't start at all

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Now we have two broken cars

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And the entire family is relying on Uber

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_00]: It can't be the battery or alternator

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Since both were replaced within the last year

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_00]: But I haven't got a clue what it is

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I've accepted my wife's point of view

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And we'll be looking at new car options later this week

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: She's very pleased about this

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And as mentioned, she considers this acceptance as an alternative to an apology from me

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: However, now she wants us to replace both cars

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_00]: As for the lip balm and the purple shirt

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: My opinion is that most lip balm looks too much like lipstick

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't find them hygienics into essentially rub your old germs back on every time you use them

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, rather

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_00]: The shirt in question was more pink than purple and more than that

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_00]: It was far too tight for my liking

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I've just clarified things and provided a better understanding of our situation

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Edit for those wondering why my wife isn't paying for repairs on her own

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_00]: We take the repair bills out of our joint account

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_00]: So I have to let you know that that one was pretty much down-voted

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_00]: But the comments with this are covered a couple of them because I've got another update as well

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_00]: First one says from wee to train who says

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Get over your feelings, get safe vehicles, be a good parent and partner

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And take care of your kids and wife

[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Can you be honest says he only has four kids so many van isn't needed

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_00]: That might be the dumbest back with argument I've ever seen

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Also it's a mum car, I get way feels that way

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_00]: This dude is just an insecure loser

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_00]: A thinks his car says something about him that he can't project on his own

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Orish women will quit having sex with guys like this

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_00]: You're ruining the world

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_00]: So the final update comes in and says

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Prageny I were able to put the issue regarding the Mercedes behind us

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And for the past week we've been working towards finding a replacement

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_00]: He was still leaning towards an SUV

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And while I considered his opinion, it was ultimately my decision to make

[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_00]: After shopping around a few days we purchased this lovely black minivan on Friday

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_00]: In the short time we've owned it, I can confidently say it surpasses our Mercedes

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And essentially every way

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_00]: The comfort is superior, the technology is better

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But most importantly, it accommodates the whole family and all our belongings were spaced as spare

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Beyond that, I feel safe transporting my children or just running errands

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Prageny also admitted that the minivan was a better choice

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: He's read many of the responses from previous posts in acknowledged

[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_00]: At wanting an SUV, despite the current size of our family, was a bit impractical

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_00]: He's even opened up to potentially using lip balm

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_00]: However the purple shirt I liked is still a nose

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_00]: He thinks there's too snug fitting and more pink than purple

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_00]: He's been in a good mood since Arsenal lost or something

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_00]: But check out his partially explained his new founder, Greableness

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_00]: But those outside the UK who's not into football slash soccer

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Arsenal had the potential to win the Premier League, the top league in the UK

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_00]: But they came second

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And Arsenal is a rival to his favourite team, Foggin' Hotspur

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And it would have been ban to vile for him if Arsenal won

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Hope he continued, currently we only have the one working van

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be taking the Mercedes into the garage at some point in the future

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Then hopefully selling it shortly after

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_00]: We plan to take the Mercedes into the garage in the near future

[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully sell it soon after

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Additionally, Craig's personal car will also need some repairs

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_00]: And then there's a couple of comments

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope mechamogzilla says imagine only being open to change

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Because one group of people kicked the ball better than another

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_00]: That it does, instead of you know, would be a better person

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Hey to RMA says sometimes the balls get in the way

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_00]: An area for Hensus says just for the Arsenal comment is an asshole

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_00]: It was the update that was tickling me where he starts off saying

[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't buy a lemon, which I do enjoy that line

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_00]: That's quite nice

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I might have to think caught things a lemon in the future

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_00]: It goes, I didn't buy a lemon

[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_00]: You did buy a lemon, this car's cost you nine grand in two years

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Without maintenance

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You absolutely bought the Sarah's lemon out there

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And just like the vivid image it gave me with this guy a lip balm

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Like he just avoided like his side eyes, it's he walks path

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Because he's gonna wait for me

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, there we be

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, what do you guys make of this situation?

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And let's move on to another story

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Now before we do get into this next story

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_00]: It's an older story one that haven't covered in the past

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_00]: But was suggested to me

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm gonna warn you again, if you're eating

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_00]: You may want to stop, you may want to skip the story

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Stop right there, we're going to be talking about

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And poo within this story

[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And a habit around that

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_00]: So this story is from What to Do Bedroom

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_00]: From the relationship advice

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Subreddit does have an update as well

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_00]: It's flagged, actual shit post

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's titled

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I-28 Think My Girlfriend 26

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Has been using my gym socks to wipe after going to the bathroom

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Oof

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Bro, wait because reason

[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know where to start with this

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm dumbfounded

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_00]: He's just stormed at the house and I'm sitting on the bed

[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Asking myself a lot of questions

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I live a pretty normal life

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And I thought so did my girlfriend

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_00]: We've been together for a few months

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And after things got serious we moved in together

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_00]: We started sharing a lot of the household responsibilities

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_00]: But the one thing she was adamant on doing was the laundry

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_00]: She would come home and find me in the bedroom

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Getting the laundry together

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And would quickly ask me to go do something else

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I come back to finish the laundry

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_00]: And she would have already started it

[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I always thought it was sweet

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I never heard her job to do it alone

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_00]: But hey, if that makes her happy to do it all the time

[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't stop her

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_00]: This is where it takes a turn for the weird

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I keep all my socks and underwear in the bottom

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Draw of my dresser

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I also go to the gym frequently

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I always keep a good supply of clean gym socks ready to go

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I never kept count

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_00]: But I know, I just a visual glance

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I have several pairs

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_00]: This morning when I grab a fresh pair to pack for the gym

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I noticed that there were several dress socks

[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_00]: But no gym socks

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Again, not weird

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: They must have been in the laundry

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to check the laundry basket and it was empty

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I checked the wash machine and dryer

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Both were empty

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't figure out where all my gym socks had gone

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Though I did the very natural thing of asking my girlfriend

[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_00]: What had happened to them

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_00]: After all, she is the one who does the laundry all the time

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_00]: She was silent, turned red and ran out of the room

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_00]: When I went after her to see if she was okay

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_00]: She wouldn't talk to me

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I told her I wasn't mad

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I was just looking for my socks

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_00]: She kind of mumbled

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know

[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I still wasn't mad of course

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_00]: But I was super confused

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_00]: socks just don't disappear

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Unless they go into tumble dry

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_00]: So I asked her again, even laughed about it

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Then she just looked at me and got mad and said

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll buy you new ones

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_00]: The first sort that went through my head

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Was she had somehow managed to destroy my socks

[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, washing them

[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought the sight of that was actually pretty funny

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_00]: But I joke with her about ruining my socks

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Wrong thing to say

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_00]: She started immediately crying

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Like full-on sobbing

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_00]: At this point I didn't care about the socks anymore

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to know what's wrong with my girlfriend

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I sat down next to her on the bed

[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But my arm around her and asked her if she was okay

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_00]: She just kept saying she was sorry

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And that she would buy me new socks

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I tried to share again that it was okay

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Even once so far to say I would buy new socks

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And she didn't have to

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I sat with her for a few minutes trying to calm her down

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Eventually had to get ready for work

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I told her I loved her

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And got my things together to leave for the day

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm way out I grabbed the garbage to take outside

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_00]: When I got outside I lifted a lid off the garbage can

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And I noticed a small plastic bag sitting on top of the garbage already in there

[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I could see through the bag

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I know the semi-c3 ones

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_00]: It was socks in the bag

[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Then I was sure she had somehow managed to ruin the socks

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Wash in them

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to see for myself

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I opened the bag and immediately regretted my choice

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_00]: There inside the bag were several pairs of my gymsock

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Covered in what looked like poop

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_00]: As soon as the smell hit me I knew it was poop

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_00]: One we didn't own any pets

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Two we didn't have any kids

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Three whose poop was on my socks

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Work could wait

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't go to the rest of the day

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Wondering why my gymsock were covered in poop

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_00]: And inside a plastic bag in the garbage can

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I grabbed the bag and walked back inside

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_00]: As soon as my girlfriend saw the bag she flipped out

[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_00]: And started yelling at me

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_00]: She said I shouldn't be going through the garbage

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was disgusted for bringing it back into the house

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I asked her to calm down

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And that I just wanted to answer as to why there was poop on my socks

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't blaming her of anything

[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_00]: But she started accusing me of blaming her

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_00]: That's when it clicked

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know what it was that led me to ask this

[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_00]: But everything leading up to the this moment had just been so crazy

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I asked her

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Is this your poop?

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_00]: She started sobbing again and ran out the house

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't go after this time

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And now I'm sitting on the bed

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_00]: With a bag of poop he sucked on the floor

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of questions in my head

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And the conclusion is that she used them after going to the bathroom

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Which that alone has its own set of questions above everything else

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I sent her text asking her to come back

[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_00]: She hasn't responded yet

[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know what I'm going to say when

[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Or if she gets back

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_00]: So the update was in the same post

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_00]: So which can get an overview of the comments

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_00]: One's that I get a fucking B-day

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Or is it at the day?

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_00]: B-day?

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: B-day?

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Some people suggest in

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Or some who fetish

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Others suggest in a possible anxiety issue

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Around going to the toilet

[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Many others just going

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_00]: What the fuck?

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_00]: OPE comes in with her update and says

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I had to leave her work

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm now at work

[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I threw away the bag of poopy socks

[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_00]: She texted me back

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And she's clearly embarrassed

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_00]: But she owed me an explanation

[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_00]: She said she didn't want to talk about it in person

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And we could discuss it over texting

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And to not bring it up in person

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm condense in the conversation

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And fitting in some gaps is best as I can

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Her response is a super sure

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm getting the idea

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Flat out after if it was a fetish

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not a fetish

[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_00]: She continued to use the socks

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_00]: After going to the bathroom

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I found the reason she always does the laundry

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Because she was hiding the fact that she used the socks

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_00]: The white with primarily her own

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I had no reason to question the amounts of socks she ever has

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Because who pays attention to that kind of thing

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_00]: She thought I would notice and think it was weird

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Then she doesn't own many socks

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_00]: She admitted she has done this for a long time

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_00]: A reasoning is best as I can understand

[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Is that because she's a germaphob

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_00]: But worth

[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And she is afraid to look people all tear

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And is afraid of getting their hands messy in any way

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_00]: She uses socks because the covers are entirely a hand

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_00]: After she's done with them, she throws them away

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_00]: She used mine because she didn't have other socks

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So my girlfriend has a fear of getting poop on her hands

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_00]: So she wipes the socks

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_00]: It has done so for a long time

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_00]: It could be worse I guess

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But we can laugh about this later

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to find the humor in it now

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm still weirded out

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_00]: What?

[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_00]: That left me with more questions more than anything

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_00]: The logistics of this

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Hadn't thought about how she was wiping

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_00]: She said it covers a whole hand

[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_00]: She literally puts the whole sock over a hand like a glove

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Because she doesn't want to get mess on her hands

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: But

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Toxic got like tiny little holes in them right

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_00]: If you stretch your sock, it's got tiny little holes in it right

[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_00]: So

[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought like a rubber glove

[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was thinking

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_00]: You know that was the last update on that post

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_00]: At some point, although they're texting and talking about this

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_00]: They've got to come face-to-face

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_00]: How would you just never bring that up again?

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Is you going to continue doing this?

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously there's the option of getting the B-Day

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Or B-Day

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_00]: But someone was talking about

[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_00]: A younger sister and a whole anxiety

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Thing again and said, my youngest sister has anxiety disorder

[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's a lot of issues around poop

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_00]: She was also diagnosed with OCD

[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_00]: But it was considered secondary to the anxiety

[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Specifically she was worried

[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Would shitter self and public or in the car

[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_00]: During a write somewhere

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_00]: You've got so bad at one point that she wouldn't leave the house

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_00]: A fear of pooping up pants and embarrassing yourself

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_00]: After she got treatment for anxiety, these issues went away

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_00]: The girlfriend's issues is more about the germs on the surface

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_00]: But you may want to lick up symptoms of OCD

[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And keep an eye on her in case she needs treatment

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember when I was in Year 5

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I thought about talking about poop

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But you had your warning at the beginning

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was going to the toilet in school and doing my business

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And I just remember sitting there

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I could hear something going on

[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And I looked up with our satinist cubicle

[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And there was a year 8

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Steering at me

[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_00]: As I was going to the toilet

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And he just carried on staring around five seconds

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And then just ran

[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_00]: That was really weird

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_00]: But that messed me up

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Quite a while after I wasn't able to like

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't able to go in public spaces anymore

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I was always worried that something similar might happen again

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I can still picture that moment vividly

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And I could remember a report

[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And I remember the guy's name as well

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know exactly what happened to him

[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_00]: But I just remember it

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Still stuck in my head

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Still being able to picture this dude

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Not as bad anymore

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's weird how one event like that

[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Can change things for you so dramatically

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously I'm not saying this for OP

[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_00]: But just relating to that last comment there

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_00]: But what do you guys make of this situation?

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Now just a huge thank you for being here today

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_00]: For getting involved in the stories you'll love

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_00]: You're supporting your time

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Always means you absolutely were all to me

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_00]: So thank you so, so much for being here

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully I see you in the next one

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Take care

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm much luck
