[00:00:02] [SPEAKER_01] Hey Waffle Gang, I do hope you are well. My name is Mark and today we're checking out some more Reddit stories. And if you do love a Reddit story, why not consider that like, subscribe, maybe that notification bell too. And let's crack on with today's first story. Much love guys.

[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_01] Now today's first story comes from Suspicious Radio 6166 from the Am I The Arsehole Here subreddit. And it says, Am I The Arsehole Here? For kicking my brother out for flirting with my wife. Bloody hell. My 25 male, wife 25 female have been together since high school. She's sweet, smart, soft, shy and fiercely loyal. And this situation just proves that. I love her more than anything. She's the love of my life.

[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_01] My brother, 35 male, recently got kicked out of my parents because he's never worked a real job. Just weird, low-paying nonsense. And recently another one of those low-paying nonsense jobs. My parents understandably lectured him again. And he lost his crap from what my mum told me.

[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_01] He was gonna be homeless so my parents begged me to let him live with me for a while. I decided to help. My wife also deciding that maybe we could help him. The conditions were that he'd clean his room, look for a job and not be a lazy bum. My wife and I both work from home so we'd be with him the entire day. Six days ago, my wife came to me and told me he was flirting with her. Not like just saying she's pretty but more like telling her he'd give her a better life and telling her to sleep with him.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_01] She insulted him quite badly by calling him a useless old man that's nearly 40 and doesn't even own a car or have a life or even a girlfriend. To that, he responded by being rude to me in my own house, telling me what to do because he's older. And my wife telling me made me see why he was acting like a child. I told him to get out of my house. We ended up fighting, swearing and screaming for about 10 minutes.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_01] When my wife called my parents who came and picked him up, my wife was crying while my parents shouted at both of us and shouted at me for what I really don't know. He started the shouting, not me. After they left, I was just so angry and cried to my wife. And we both cried for a good 10 or 15 minutes and watched the movie afterwards. I chose the perfect date. Yeah, I'm corny. Say what you want. My brother is back with our parents who are now pissed at me.

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_01] I don't feel like the asshole, but at the same time, I kind of do. Thank you for reading. I look forward to seeing your opinions. Now, we all know why the parents are angry because now he's back at their house, right? They begged OP to take him initially and now he's back at the mum and dad's house. But this nearly 40-year-old dude, within days of living with him, is telling the brother's wife he'd give her a better life, which doesn't make no sense to begin with. That in a house, he doesn't pay for.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_01] But the wife didn't stay quiet either and told him exactly what she thought of him, which, you know, fair enough. OP kicks him out and there's a screaming match and the parents are showing up and somehow shout at both of them, which again, you know, is wild in itself. The brother just propositioned your son's wife and somehow you're blaming them. So the parents and the brother are, of course, arseholes, all of them arseholes in this situation. I kind of picture the situation like him going up to the wife and saying, let me try my sound effects here.

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_00] Hey, baby. Oh, shit, that's the wrong way. Hey, baby. About me and you. Run away. I'll give you a better life. But first, we have to go back to my mum's house to live for a bit. Jesus Christ, they sound like the bad guy from The Mask.

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_01] Maybe no more sound effects. Anyway, let's check out some of the comments. Pomney says, not the arsehole, but your parents sure are as well. The way your brother behaved, it's no wonder where his immaturity came from since they enabled it. You gave him a chance and he blew it. The way he said he was going to give your wife a better life was very corny. Like, what has he done to make his own life better in terms of financial stability? I would suggest that unless your parents and brother apologize to you and your wife, you go low contact with them.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_01] Opie says, I really don't know where he gets all these movie lines from, honestly. My parents aren't talking to me. As the other comments have pointed out, my parents enable him. Rocket says, tell your wife that you're sorry for bringing that arsehole into your house. Opie says, yeah, I have. And she said it wasn't my fault. But I feel some responsibility for it. Cool says, not the arsehole. Your brother is a loser. Opie says, I never took him for the kind of person to do that. He's the slowest guy I know when it comes to women.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01] Weald says, not the arsehole. Your marriage should come before anything else. He bit the hand that was feeding him. I have a brother I haven't spoken to in over 34 years and it hasn't been long enough. Opie says, imagine going into your little brother's house, try to fuck his wife and promise her a better life while having nothing. Then get angry about it when she says no. All the while being 10 years older than your brother. That's just embarrassing when I actually think about it.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_01] After a week, Opie comes in with her update and says, this is an update post to my post that absolutely blew up. I hope I'm doing this update right. If you don't know the story, basically I allowed my brother to stay with me after my parents kicked him out and they begged me to let him stay with me. And when they came, he flirted with my wife and it made her extremely uncomfortable. If you want the details, then read the original. Long story short, basically my parents have been cut off by me and my wife.

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_01] The day after the original post, I set up a meeting with my parents and my brother for the Saturday. Come Saturday, my wife and I go to their place. The greeting was awkward, but my wife said cut the bullshit. And then we spoke about why I kicked him out. My parents shocked me by saying he had told them about the flirting already and everything he had done. Then they said, it's my wife or them and that my brother is more important than a girl. I then realized how they are just as responsible as he is for how he turned out.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_01] You people on Reddit were right. My parents are the asshole alone with my brother and I deserve better. Thank you guys so much for all the advice. It truly helped so much. My wife and I both read the comments and it gave insight. Now I want to ask, how do I get over cutting off my parents? It's almost like part of me is dead and I just realized how much control they had over me, even without me really knowing. I don't know if I was abused or neglected. They've done everything parents are supposed to do. I'm just really damn confused.

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_01] Interesting at the end of this one that OP is reflecting on their life before that and how much control the parents had over OP. And maybe it was even tipping into abuse. Maybe OP should have a look into therapy to maybe unpack that. But again, it's the thought process behind this. Tapping my head when I'm doing that. Just thinking as the parents, you know, they come around for this talk and basically instead turning around to OP and saying, well, the brother's more important than a girl. So what are you going to do about it?

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_01] And then give him an ultimatum to pick his wife or the family. Weird arseholes, man. But a commenter said to OP, good luck OP. It'll be confusing to feel weightless like that for a while. And then you'll start appreciating your freedom and get to choose who deserves to be called family. Rooting for you too. OP says, thank you. One good thing is my in-laws are just great people. My wife is an angel. So yeah, have a good support system at least. August says, they made your choice pretty easy OP.

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_01] Go no contact with all of them and live a happy life without all their BS. They can enable your useless brother to the end of their days. OP says, honestly, at this point, he'll probably never get anywhere. So they can continue enabling him. Serious Bat says, not the arsehole. I'm glad you're no contact with them all. We can tell your brother is the golden child. OP then says, I really don't even know why he has a golden child. Maybe because he's the firstborn, I guess. He was never really better than me in anything really.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_01] I had no sibling rivalry as he's 10 years older than me. Mysterious Tune says, OP, you and your wife need to be prepared on what to do once you have children. Because if they find out that they are now grandparents, they will very likely demand to see their grandchildren. OP says, my wife and I have been thinking about this. But honestly, they treated me so badly. I definitely don't want my own kids near them. And neither would my wife. New Arborist says, not the arsehole. In a contest between parents and your wife, the wife should always be the winner.

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_01] OP says, I seriously don't know what my parents thought with, it's us or her. Like, obviously, I'm going to pick my wife. Yeah. Can you imagine trying to say that with a straight face to some, holy shit, what do you guys make of this situation? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below. Let's move on to another story. Now our next story comes from a throwaway account. And it says, my 23 female boyfriend, 24 male,

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_01] keeps accidentally calling me his best friend's name during sex. Oh, dearie me. My boyfriend, let's call him Will, has been best friends with Caleb for about 10 to 11 years. Me and Will have been dating for about six months now and things have been going really well. This has only just started to become a problem. I honestly know this sounds like a joke and I've been scared to tell my friends because they either laugh at me or tell the story to other people, which would be really embarrassing.

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_01] So he always would accidentally call me Caleb sometimes during conversation, which I didn't mind at all. I get names mixed up all the time. But around last month in early March, he called me Caleb as I was giving him head. I'd have laughed it off, but he said it so loudly and passionately that honestly, I was so shocked that I just ignored it. Obviously, I regret this now because eventually so much time passed that I couldn't bring it up and just kind of forgot about it. In my head, I thought it was sort of funny

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_01] because the way he said it was honestly funny as hell from an outside perspective. But as his girlfriend, it's kind of worrying. Him and Caleb are very close. They lived together for almost two years and they know everything about each other. But I really, really doubt that they've ever been together or had feelings for each other. Will has mentioned Caleb having an ex-girlfriend, so I'm pretty sure he's straight. And Will is definitely straight. When I ran the situation through my head, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_01] It's normal to get names mixed up sometimes, especially when you see that person every single day. I should also add that I really liked Caleb and would consider him my friend. Then it happened again. This time, it was actually during sex. My name sounds nothing like Caleb and he straight up moaned, Caleb. This time, I stopped and started laughing awkwardly, thinking that Will would be laughing that it said Caleb by accident. He just looked blank and kind of confused for a second.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_01] Then I saw that I was nervously laughing and did this awkward fake laugh for a few seconds before kissing me again. I said, that's the second time you've done that. Then he laughed and said, I'm just a R slur. Sorry. Obviously, I was uncomfortable, but again, I thought it was just him being clumsy. Finally, it happened a last time, last night. He moaned Caleb as we're having sex. I stopped him and sort of snapped and said, okay, what the fuck, dude? And he started crying and said he gets names mixed up

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_01] because he had a kidney stone last year and it was really stressful for him and Caleb was the person who helped him through it. What the fuck? This is total BS, right? I mean, I don't know much about kidney stones, but I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. Now, I'm worried more about his weird lies and excuse for doing it rather than him actually doing it. Should I be worried? Do I need to talk to him about this or should I just end things? A commenter who was dealing with kidney stones themselves says, dealing with kidney stones right now

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_01] definitely doesn't make me scream Mike when I'm having sex. If anything, it makes me scream motherfucker in the bathroom. Do with that what you will. Berrywing says, I have to say the kidney stones bid is the most far-fetched creative BS excuse I've read about in a long time. There's reaching and then there's ripping your arm off and claiming you're stretching. Lizzie says, quoting and Will is definitely straight and then says, please don't be that naive. Guys don't call you by a man's name in bed multiple times

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_01] when they're 100% straight. Alton says, no, you don't understand. It's a kidney stone bros thing. Another commenter says, can confirm, was 100% straight. Got a kidney stone last year and now I'm dating a nice young man. Milk says, I don't want to be that person but are you sure he's in love with him or hold some romantic feelings for him? You need to sit down and have a serious discussion with him on this. Again, it may happen the first time but it happened again. Yikes.

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_01] And one more says, quoting, Will has mentioned Caleb having an ex-girlfriend so I'm pretty sure he's straight and Will is definitely straight and says, bisexuality exists. So Opie does come in with an update and says this got a lot of attention and everyone's responses were very helpful. They made me realize how serious the whole thing is and how I was fooling myself into thinking that Will didn't have some sort of feelings for Caleb. They live about a block away from me so I really thought through everything I wanted to say and headed over there.

[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_01] Caleb answered the door and let me know that Will was picking up concert tickets and that he'd be back soon and he let me in. I'll admit I was acting strange around Caleb because even though it isn't his fault I still felt a bit jealous and sad. He picked up on this and asked what was wrong and I basically broke down and asked if he and Will ever slept together. He looked really shocked and asked why and I ended up telling him the whole thing. He looked incredibly confused the whole time and then when I told him about the kidney stone thing he burst into laughter but like manic laughter.

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_01] He was shaking so much it was like he was vibrating. Then he started crying and I got really worried and asked what was going on. He wouldn't answer me at first but after I insisted he told me what's going on and he apologized to me. He told me that he and Will had drunkenly slept together a handful of times over the last two years and Will had wanted something more but he didn't want a relationship with him. Eventually Will moved on with me and Caleb had confessed to Will that he was jealous but he swears nothing had happened between them.

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_01] He prefaced the confession with I'm not gay or anything but like given the amount of people telling me that they thought they liked each other I was prepared for this. The whole situation is a mess and I think both of them need to figure things out with themselves as well as each other. I decided to leave Will a letter explaining this and left. I'm pretty upset but luckily Will and I had only been together for less than six months so I'm glad to have got out when I did. I hope I didn't bump into them at Walmart. I'm guessing it's some kind

[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_01] of small town because that ending is absolutely wild to me that I hope I don't bump into them at Walmart is just like oh dear that sent me but what do you guys make of this situation? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below and let's move on to another story. Our next story comes from GURLT and it says my 26 female husband 30 male of 6 years wants to be the father of another woman's child.

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_01] So my husband unleashes this on me three days ago and I'm still reeling. We're talking over dinner and he mentions that a long-term friend of his wants to have a baby. I don't know this woman personally but he's talked about her before. Apparently she asked him to be the sperm donor and he said he was very flattered and he wanted to do it. At first I was really surprised but not necessarily upset even though I didn't find the idea palatable. I didn't want to jump to the wrong conclusion so I told him to explain a little more

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_01] about what this meant. He tells me she wanted a kid for a while and she decided not to wait for a relationship anymore. I asked him if it would be difficult for him to know that somewhere out there he had a child that he couldn't see or whose life he couldn't be a part of and if it would affect him emotionally. Then he whips out some really upsetting news. This woman wants him to actually be the father figure. She wants him to be a part of the kid's life like the actual dad. I do not like this for one major reason. He's been intimate

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_01] with this woman before. They dated in their early 20s but he refers to her as a friend and before now I never minded their friendship. I assumed they didn't think of each other that way anymore. They still might not to be fair but isn't it very fucking intimate to share the active parenting of a child? I just don't know if they'd keep it platonic considering their history and this very bond building event they want to plan. He said I'm overreacting and that I'm not showing trust in him. I'm being insecure and it's insulting because he's always

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_01] been loyal to me before and I have no reason not to trust him which is true but it's just so uncomfortable for me to consider. There's another issue too. He and I have talked about children and I let him know fairly early in our relationship right when we started getting serious that I have some fertility issues that may make it difficult to have kids in the future. I let him know that I've never gotten a specialist opinion and that nothing was certain but I've been told it may be a concern in the future. It wasn't something in the forefront of my mind.

[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_01] We had both agreed I thought to put off planning a family for a few years so to me it was a distant issue one that I thought I'd just deal with later when we were trying. He goes on to tell me he and this woman have been discussing this for a few days and he's going to do it because I might not be able to have kids anyways and if it turns out I can't he wants to seize this opportunity because he might not get another one like this later. I feel hurt. My emotional reaction is that I'm somehow inadequate even though we haven't

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_01] even started trying for kids and I don't even got a specialist opinion. I feel written off. I feel shocked. I'm very fucking upset but deep down I wonder what if I can't have kids? Is it fair to deny him parenthood? Am I looking at this the wrong way? Truthfully he's always been faithful. Could this dynamic somehow function properly in a way I'm not seeing? I'm so weirded out right now I wouldn't even know how to picture this future. We have an argument and he tells me I'm being selfish

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_01] because he's always wanted children and I cannot expect him to just give up such a huge dream of his. He says he isn't cheating with this other woman they aren't going to have sex. He claims it'd be like he just has a kid he can father and the kid will just live with a friend. He says it really has nothing to do with our relationship it's his own personal matter and I wouldn't have to do anything. I think that's really how he views it like when one person in a marriage has a time consuming expensive hobby that the other doesn't enjoy but still allows

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_01] their partner to do even though it means giving up time and resources. But this is a child not a sailboat. This is a woman he's dated and slept with even if it was years ago and that's what's off-putting to me. I honestly have never been in this position so I don't know if I'm just freaking out. I don't know if people commonly do things like this or how these things turn out or how I'm supposed to approach this. A child would be a huge part of his life that I apparently would have no part in. Can someone reality check this please?

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_01] How do I even proceed with this? When OP said I honestly have never been in this position I was thinking bloody hell. I don't think many people have been in that kind of position before because that is wild. My first thought because you was talking about their past and they slept together that they are still sleeping together she's got pregnant and now he's coming up with this which would already be bad enough in itself but I was absolutely disgusted at his comments and the way that he's treated her OP opening up about her

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_01] fertility issues and then he's using them against her stuff she shared with him very early on in the relationship he took it turned it around and said you might not be able to give me kids so I'm gonna go ahead with someone else that is just that's a scumbag man and then talking about it like as a hobby just bloody a child with his ex actively co-parenting the reality check is be done with this shit there's more to this I guarantee

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_01] and you simply deserve way way better Cardinal says nope nope nope not selfish perfectly reasonable what a can of worms this is gonna open up edit oh my god are you sure they're not sleeping together and she's already pregnant another commenter says oh hell fucking no it's not a hobby it's a child a living breathing human who has needs like a father he can't treat the child like a puppy or a hobby it'd be his kid all your objections

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_01] are absolutely correct they will have a relationship that you hello child support this will absolutely involve you every single thing you two do will be tinged with his child every vacation every holiday hell every weekend basically he wants a little family unit with her and not you for some reason for me just the fact that he entertained this notion would be grounds for we're going to therapy now if you ever so

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_01] much as speak to this woman again we're breaking up if he argues or worse actually has sex with her or donates sperm i'll be flinging divorce papers in his face an hour later edits after seeing a user's edit i can't believe how obvious it is i'd lay money that he's knocked her up already opi comes in with an update and says well everyone was right he was cheating surprise surprise i called the girl behind his back and found out everything she wasn't nice about it it wasn't a fun conversation

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_01] nothing else i can say except i'm out of there and divorce is happening we dated three years married three years and i'm a stupid idiot and i can't believe i didn't see it before makes me cringe to look at my post how naive could you be tldr he was cheating edit and i guess my post was deleted somehow here you go in case you're late to the freak show the commenter says to op don't beat yourself up op when you love someone you're inclined to see the best in them that's why it's hard for virtually anyone

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_01] inside a relationship to believe their partner could be cheating on them our mind wants to believe that our partners are fundamentally good people so we tend to find ways to excuse behavior that seems suspect to an outsider it's why it's always a good idea to talk to others when you have a gut feeling something is wrong in any event i'm sorry for your loss hopefully you're working to move past this and will eventually open yourself up to loving and trusting someone again beef says so is she pregnant opi says

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_01] no but apparently it wasn't for lack of trying she's pretty up in my face about it it was probably the worst conversation in my life i can honestly say i've never seen red until she started laughing at me whatever they can have each other fuck them and i'm glad that commenter did come in and said don't beat yourself up opi because it's absolutely true isn't it when you're in a relationship you don't look at them and think cheater you look for the best and hope that they got

[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_01] your best interest in mind i mean clearly in the first part of the story he didn't right from the start but it's kind of the fog we talk about in a lot of stories right but what do you guys make of this situation how did you expect that outcome did you see it coming let us know your thoughts down in the comments below let's move on to another story now our next story comes from the am i the arsehole subreddit no update is yet from gone wandering 2 and says am i the arsehole for

[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_01] leaving my friend at the brewery when he brought up something that haunts me a few years ago while on a hike with my wife she slipped and fell i was not able to get her up for those of you are familiar this took place on the 14er group out of chicago basin i looked it up and apparently a 14er is at any mountain range with an elevation above 14 000 feet that sounds bloody high so it was stressful thankfully another man was able to get her out but it was

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_01] hours later she had been perched on a cliff under the drop site she's never been upset with me for not being able to help her by myself we are both avid experienced hikers but i'm not a strong guy and she is a sturdy gal the fear on her face says she fell is imprinted in my mind and something that will always haunt me for that split second i thought i would lose her forever not being able to help her haunts me she and i were together at a brewery with some friends one of them was talking about a trip he

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_01] planned up como to blanca slash little bear traverse we did that one a while back and i had some advice for him for absolutely no reason he looked at me and said okay bro i'm not taking advice from a man who left his wife to rot on sunlight my wife immediately corrected him but i was stunned he thought it was hilarious and had a huge grin on his face i didn't know what to say so i just got up to get another drink but ended up going outside our wife came to find

[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_01] me and asked if i was okay i was honestly very upset and said i'd like to go she drove us home the issue our friend was expecting us to drive him home and i didn't say anything or tell him i was going i just left he texts me where the fuck did you go bro and bro why are you ignoring me and all that he had to take an uber home which was expensive i asked him why he'd bring up that accident when he knows how i feel about it he responded with a bunch of images of emojis pointing and laughing he said

[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_01] that my hypersensitivity cost him money he's out of work so that is true and i need to nut up and learn to laugh at myself this is not typical behavior for him i don't really hang out with guys who do all the bro stuff yes historically been a nice guy i also would not normally just abandon someone i'd promised a ride am i the arsehole for leaving him without a ride it sounded like he was in a safe place he was being an arsehole he's not a friend so no you're not

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_01] the arsehole in this situation you know and even after he said that fucked up shit to begin with which he absolutely shouldn't have said when you asked him why he would bring up that accident because he knows how you feel about it instead of saying you're right man i'm i fucked up i'm really really sorry can i get you a drink and make up for it or or something along those lines he sends you a bunch of images pointing and laughing at you what a dickhead first commenter says to op hey a good

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_01] tip for anyone reading this if you want someone to do you a favor don't be intentionally cruel to them not the arsehole i would not feel bad for him experiencing a consequence for his actions and i would need a real apology before even considering meeting him again favors will be off the table indefinitely regardless commenter says that's not your friend not your bro not your buddy not your pal not your guy that was a low blow and he cost himself money with that comment not the arsehole drop that

[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_01] person from your life math man says not the arsehole and your wife loves you the latter part matters more than some not nice ex-friend of yours you didn't have to say you're upset your wife knew it and she came out to talk to you she asked you what you needed and she left with you immediately it sounds like she didn't even bother asking how the other guy will get home because it didn't matter expect nothing from this person who made this comment don't expect them to change don't expect them to apologize if you do then you're only setting

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_01] yourself up for disappointment do not carry this now the commenter says i'm glad you weren't a doormat and left him there you deserved it that was a horribly cruel and not factual thing to say clearly he's going through something but that has no reason to say something so messed up hypersensitive that's what jerks say to justify their cruelty but are notoriously bad at being on the receiving end of the joke and one more commenter who says i love some of my friends with all of my heart we poke

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_01] fun and insult each other relentlessly we sometimes go too far and someone gets offended and then there are apologies and beers bought this crossed a line that would earn a right hook from 90% of my friend group i think he got off lightly with being left to make his own way home to then continue and not apologize once he realized how offended you are crossing lines that would make me re-evaluate that friendship and that's what always gets me about these i know the initial fuck up is a big fuck up and worthy of dropping the friend

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_01] instantly anyway but the doubling down afterwards that this is meant to be your friend and you've just upset them and instead of you you know just apologizing seeing their point and just being really apologetic you double down it's just i it blows my mind honestly it really does but what about you guys would that guy ever be able to get back into a friendship with you after he crossed a line like that do you think there's a way back i personally can't see it
