[00:00:01] [SPEAKER_00] Hey Waffle Gang, I do hope you are well. My name is Mark and today we're checking out some more Reddit stories. And if you do love a Reddit story, why not consider hitting that like, subscribe, maybe that notification bell too. And let's crack on with today's first story. Much love guys.
[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_00] Now today's video we're covering the Am I Overreacting subreddit and our first story is coming from SessionNovel8584. This is Am I Overreacting? My husband has a secret roleplay world where he's married to my best friend. I genuinely cannot tell if I'm being insane about this so I need outside opinions. I haven't told anyone in real life because I don't even know how I'd explain it. My husband, I'll call him Don.
[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_00] And I, 32 female, have been married for seven years. I really thought things were good between us. We still do date nights. We don't really fight. Everything felt normal. I wasn't sitting around worried about our marriage or anything. So a few months ago, I got really into this fictional roleplay website. You make choices and it generates the next part of the story for you. And you can create your own world with whatever characters and scenarios you want. I know it sounds kind of silly, but honestly, it's really fun.
[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_00] I got pretty hooked on it. I showed it to Don one night thinking he'd think it was dumb, but he actually got super into it. Like he's on it for hours every night now, which I thought was great because it was something we could talk about together. Here's where everything fell apart. We share an iPad. And yesterday I opened the site and it was logged into his account instead of mine. I really wasn't trying to go through his stuff. I was just going to switch back to my profile, but I saw he had this world called fresh start.
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00] And I guess I got curious. The characters were him and someone with my best friends, 32 female, we call her Annabelle, actual name. I opened it and the first scene is him having this big fight with a woman who looks exactly like me, telling her that he's wasted years of his life and he's done. Then he walks out and goes to Annabelle and suddenly they're together and he's saying all this stuff about how she's the one he should have been with all along.
[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_00] I had to stop reading because I felt like I was going to be sick. And the thing is, Annabelle has always been the more attractive one between the two of us and I've always known that. She's single and she's over at our place all the time. I never once felt weird about it until now. I know he didn't actually cheat on me. I know it's just a stupid app and none of it really happened. But he sat there and created this whole fantasy where he leaves me for my best friend. He came up with that.
[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_00] He typed it all out. He picked her specifically. I haven't said anything to him yet and he has no idea I saw it. Part of me wants to confront him, but honestly, part of me thinks maybe I should just let it go. Like, maybe some things are better left alone. Maybe I don't actually want to hear what he'd say if I asked him about it. But then I think about the fact that he's probably still playing it every night while I'm sitting right next to him. And I feel sick all over again.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00] I genuinely don't know what the right move is here. In my opinion, absolutely not overreacting in this situation at all. I think that would knock anyone sideways. Certainly doing it to me just thinking about it. Because the thing is, you're right. He didn't technically cheat, right? But he also didn't just randomly generate a story about, I don't know, what, a dragon or being in a cyberpunk world where you're shooting down bad guys and all this kind of stuff. Or solving a mystery or something like that.
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_00] He created a fantasy about leaving you for your best friend. That was a choice. Multiple choices, actually. He picked a name. He's created scenarios. Probably spent hours doing this. Hours creating this alternative reality where he's with her instead of you. And you question yourself in a part of this and maybe some things are better left alone. Which I get where you're coming from in some ways. But in the end, can you actually move forward not knowing?
[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_00] Because for me, I'd be sitting there thinking, like you said, he's still there creating this fantasy. This is still in his head. It's not, I would need to know. And that would absolutely eat me alive not knowing. And it's not something that would just suddenly vanish from my head either. Every time he'd be sitting on that iPad, I'd be thinking, what the fuck's he up to now on there? What's going on in that fantasy world now? Part of me is like, I wonder if you just said, you know, I accidentally saw your fresh start world.
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_00] And then just see what his reaction is from there. Is he going to get defensive or, you know, minimize it? Or how is he going to take it? Alive 2 says, I'd be pretty pissed off. You don't do that if there is not a single piece of reality behind that. Opie says, I suspect the same too. Annabelle is very beautiful and I've always been very insecure about this. Bite Me says, I personally would make his fantasy life reality. I wouldn't even check to see if they talk and text.
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_00] I'd have his bags packed when he got home and tell him that his secret role playing just became reality. In my opinion, there is more reality to his role playing than fantasy. I personally wouldn't want to be with him anymore. Her being over at your place all the time would play a factor in my decision. Bia Parsnip says, even if this isn't classically cheating, it's inappropriate and disrespectful to your relationship. His reaction to you deleting his story tells you everything you need to know.
[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_00] Unfortunately, by doing so, you now have given him ammunition to turn it around back onto you. I'm not sure there's anything to salvage in this relationship. Once you break up with him, I give it a week and they'll be dating. So Opie added an update and said, as per the comments, I decided to confront him this morning. Before that, to salvage our relationship, I also deleted his account on Free Roam. I could not stand the thought of him and Annabelle gallivanting in this fantasy land.
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_00] When he found out about my truths, he went absolutely ballistic saying that a man is allowed to dream and that if I dreamed of cheating on him, that would not count as cheating. He claims that he was not cheating on me, whatever that means. He then snatched the iPad and went through all of the history trying to salvage his worlds and accounts on Free Roam. I almost feel bad. Did I cross the line? I also want to confront Annabelle next. What should I do? Update 2. I discovered something absolutely heartbreaking.
[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_00] I can feel my blood boiling as I type this out. As the comments mentioned, I began to suspect Annabelle may be more involved than I initially thought. So I searched and I think I found her profile. For some reason, she had a public world on her profile that had the same general idea as Don's. The characters looked just like her, so I guess he must have told her what he was doing and she made one too. You can't make this stuff up and I'm about to lose it. Should I confront her about her world? Update 3.
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_00] I confronted Annabelle and she promised me that Don and her had never gotten physical together. I told her that she had crossed the line and we could never be friends anymore. She felt embarrassed and irked that scene into her inner fantasy and felt that as a close friend that invaded her privacy. I'm not too sure what to believe anymore. In my heart, I know they have cheated. I have no evidence but this story to prove my intuition. Her world just contained too many truths that seemed too close to reality. Update 4.
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00] Take in all your advice. I called a divorce attorney. I'm told that I have no legal grounds and that a fictional story does not count as adultery. In fact, with no evidence of cheating and your higher income, he may actually be entitled to support. I'm now staying over at my parents' place ignoring both their persistent cause. They're calling me immature for ghosting them and not speaking to them about the situation like adults. One of the commenters after this said,
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_00] They both created profiles with characters looking exactly the same and roleplaying the same shit and you're supposed to believe it's all innocent. You need to calm down a little though and start digging for more info. Phone records, bank statements, etc. The attorney is right that a video game isn't real life cheating but it shows intent in my mind. Where there's smoke, there's fire. How long have you been married? How much in support would you actually have to pay? I don't think you should leave your house.
[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_00] It would be better for you to get him to leave to stay elsewhere for a while. I'd make it clear to him that you consider this crossing way over the line and inappropriate. I'd also let him know your trust in him is nil at this point. Cut the friend out for good. She's no longer welcome in your house or in your life. A comment from the other side says, Let's go through the checklist. 1. Maybe emotional cheating. 2. No physical cheating. 3. Not trying to hear or understand why he feels the way he does. 4. No willingness from you to even try marriage counseling.
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_00] 5. No attempt at all from you at reconciliation. 6. Completely throw away a 7 year relationship over a fantasy world. 7. Throw away a friendship. 7. Yahtzee. 8. You're overreacting. It's obvious you don't have enough love for him to even try and save your marriage. Which makes me think you were looking for an out and this is it. I expect many downvotes but I don't care. But now I'm going to turn this one to you guys. What would you do in that situation? Do you think it's overreacting? Not overreacting?
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_00] How would you feel about it? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below and let's move on to another story. Now this story comes from throwaway1985 and it says am I overreacting for calling a divorce attorney after my husband lied about who he was with? I, female 37, just need non-biased opinions.
[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_00] My husband, male 37, asked me two weeks ago if he could go camping this past weekend with a friend and his brother. He asked via text so I am assured I'm not remembering incorrectly. I said I don't know because our daughter, 5, had a cheer competition and I'd prefer to not drag our son, 6, along for that long day. He offered to arrange for a sitter but I still wasn't happy because the competition was early and close to our house.
[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_00] Getting her up and ready is already a pain. To add in driving our son to a sitter's is just making the morning so much more stressful. We find out she's a later performance so he decides to go. He says he's going with his brother as the friend can't go. Wednesday night before he left, he specifically said he was nervous with the horizon outages because he and his brother both have Verizon and they're hoping they don't lose access to GPS. Thursday morning, he texts.
[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_00] He made it to the campsite safely. I don't hear from him again. Friday at noon, I reach out to make sure he's alive. He usually texts me life checks daily when camping. I get no response. By 6pm, I'm nervous and text my sister-in-law to see if brother-in-law was able to contact her. That's when she replies, Ma'am, what are you talking about? My husband is on the couch next to me. I saw red.
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_00] In my mind, my husband is still camping but used his brother as a manipulative tool because he assumes I won't want to ruin his good time. But mild background. We clearly have young kids who need a lot of attention. I work full-time and manage basically everything for the kids. He works a swing shift so he's gone 14 hours a day on days he's working. I'm constantly juggling everything alone so it does suck when he finally has time off
[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_00] and actively chooses to spend it so detached slash not being helpful in any way. Saturday, he finally texts that he has service again and is coming home. I ignored his text. He called but I was driving with our daughter in the car so a call wasn't appropriate. When I could, I texted him calling him out on his lie. He doubled down and said he didn't lie. It was a change in plan because by the time he knew our daughter's start time was late enough that he could go. It was too late to invite his brother.
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_00] It's now Monday. He's been living out of our basement or at work so he has not tried to talk to me at all and is instead taking the stand that he's mad at me for being mad. In my opinion, he lied to me. He manipulated me. Instead of apologizing when he was caught, doubled down and is using my anger against me. The fact is, I no longer can trust him and contacted an attorney. So, am I overreacting?
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_00] Absolutely not overreacting at all. The lying, the doubling down and now the sulking in the basement because you had the audacity to be upset about being lied to? Come on now. He specifically mentioned his brother multiple times and casually a switching to, oh yeah, plans changed only when caught. That's not miscommunication. He's covering his tracks and the whole thing sounded like a setup with a Verizon outages,
[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_00] you know, oh I'm worried about this and then suddenly it happens and you can't get in contact with him. He knew exactly what he was doing there. He's simply broken your trust and now you need to protect yourself on the back of that. People were asking who did he say he was with while camping and apparently the guy was just insisting it was by himself. I hope he was replying to them saying thank you and I do truly believe that he just went by himself. But his brother had no idea about any of it so it was never discussed with him.
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_00] And it just bothers me so much he went out of his way to bring up the night before. Yeah, we both have Verizon. When he knew damn well his brother wasn't going with him. Like at any point he could have said plans changed but he stuck with his lie because it was part of his manipulation. It just sounds so stupid. I'm going to risk not spending future holidays with my kids because he went camping alone and not with his brother like he said. I know it's deeper and more than that but it also doesn't feel like it at the same time.
[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_00] The commenter says to AP in my opinion he lied to me and then says oh no that's not an opinion that's a fact. He lied to you. Then spent days away camping ignoring you the whole time with whom was he supposedly camping. Exactly. Then quotes again saying the fact is I can no longer trust him and contacted an attorney and then says that was 100% the right call. You do not have the full story and you probably never will. Welcome to trickle truth.
[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_00] But since he's doubling down all you can do is assume absolute worst. The gaslighting practically proves that he's cheating. Not overreacting. Cheap detective says not overreacting. You've got to protect yourself at the end of the day. If there's a chance he's cheating you're one step ahead and there's nothing bad about that. He clearly lied and is now gaslighting you and faulting you for having a completely appropriate response to the situation.
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_00] It makes no sense that it was too late to invite his brother when he left because at that time he told you it would be the friend not joining. Not his brother. Sorry you're having to deal with this. I hope you can get him to admit what really went on soon. Commoner simply says he wasn't camping and he wasn't by himself. Divorce and move on. There's no way you're the arsehole here says I'm often the odd one out on these situations because everyone always goes right to he's cheating.
[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_00] This time that almost has to be what happened. He tells you that friend can't go but he's still going with the brother and he leaves. The problem is the brother's wife knows nothing about it. That means your husband was never going to go with the brother in the first place. And when your husband got there he let you know he was okay but didn't mention that the brother wasn't there. I mean did he really think you wouldn't call the brother's wife when he didn't answer your call?
[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_00] And finally to put the cherry on top he talked about not having cell service so he didn't have to communicate with you while he's with the other woman. I'm sorry but he's not only a cheater but he's horrible at it too. But what do you guys think is going on in this situation? I think the majority of the comments on this one are automatically saying you know this has got to be cheating right? But what's your thoughts on it? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below and let's move on to another story.
[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_00] Now our next story comes from the sci-fi guy 80 who says Am I overreacting? Wife and I were stuck at an overflow table at my parents house on Thanksgiving. Hey everyone. First time posting. Something happened on Thanksgiving that annoyed me but didn't bother my wife. We went to my mom and dad's house this Thanksgiving. We have a good relationship with my mom and dad. We see them often along with my wife's side.
[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_00] But fortunate enough that both sides of the family live within 45 minutes of each other with us in the center. Anyway. This year my mom and dad invited a lot of friends to Thanksgiving. Which is cool. I don't care. But what happened is all the friends of theirs ended up eating at the main table. Which seats about 12. My wife and I were relegated to an overflow table in another room. By ourselves. So while everyone else is chatting it up. Catching up. Having conversations with each other.
[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_00] We sat alone together. And don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the time with my wife. We talked together and had a good time. I didn't say anything about it to my parents at the time. But my wife asked me about it when we got home. And I confessed to being a little hurt. She said it wasn't a big deal. And it really isn't in the long run. But I think I'm justified in being a bit hurt and annoyed by being left out. So what say you all? Edit. I just want to make it clear.
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_00] I don't care about actually sitting at the main table. What bothered me was being placed in a separate room alone. While everyone else dined together. I was going to use the result of this to gauge whether I should bring it up. And let them know how I really felt about it. I wasn't sure if it was that big of a deal to other people. Yeah you're saying it's not a massive deal. But it's definitely a what the fuck moment. It had me going what the fuck anyway. Being physically separated into another room. While your parents host their friends at the main table.
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_00] And you know your wife's cool with it. But she did ask you the question. She asked how you felt about it. So she knows something was there. So maybe she's just trying to make you feel good after the fact. Because to me that's definitely weird. Even from like the parents perspective. Like they've got you guys coming around. And they say oh we'll just put them in another room. I mean what? What? And in some ways it would have been okay if there was a bunch of you in another room. You know maybe you and a couple of other couples. But it was just you and your wife and that's it.
[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_00] I was going to make a comment about you basically got the kids table. But this seems even worse in some ways. And for me if I was one of the guests at that dinner. On the main table with everyone else. I would sit there feeling awkward for OP and his wife. There's no doubt about it how I'd feel in that situation. Sog said not overreact. If they had an overflow table set up then they knew. I take this as a sign not to go again next year. Your parents could have split up with one being at one table. And the other being at the overflow table.
[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_00] On top of that they could have had others join you at the other table. That was a crappy thing to do. And I would let them know it. Tell them you got the hint that you're not really welcome. And that you'll be celebrating with your in-laws. OP responded to that saying thanks. I talked to my dad about it the next day. I know it wasn't done with malice or anything. But they didn't realize what happened until it was too late. K23 replied saying this is bullshit. They set up the table that way. They knew what they were doing. Wookie with the cookie replies. Great name by the way.
[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_00] Didn't realize or didn't care to look bad. Because their guests were taken care of. And you being put off and hurt was a better outcome than embarrassing themselves in front of their friends. Let's be honest. There's absolutely no way they didn't realize before the meal was over that you guys weren't there. And in that case at least one of them could have been decent hosts and come and sat with you. I get 14 is a lot of people. But we have twice this at any given family function of mine. And it's so obvious. Especially to the host.
[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah I don't believe that for one second. That they didn't know. Come on man. I just think that's so incredibly rude. There's a few commenters saying that you know it's an overreaction in this. But I don't know. What do you guys make of this one? Holy moly. Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below. Let's have another story. Our next story again from the Am I Overreacting subreddit of course. From Plushy Bear who says am I overreacting for walking out on my hairdresser.
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_00] Because she didn't tell me she couldn't do my hair how I wanted beforehand. What? I 20s female went to go and get my hair done today. I messaged the woman who does my hair two weeks ago to see if she had any openings. I sent her a pic of what I wanted and she told me to send her a picture of the way my hair currently looks. I sent her a picture of that as well and she messaged me back saying that she had put me in for a Saturday.
[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_00] Now I want to clarify that she is the only person who has ever dyed my hair. The first time I dyed my hair about 8 months ago was with her. I was very happy with what she did and no one else has touched my hair but her since then. For the context the last couple of times I've done my hair I've gotten a light brown of coppery tone to my hair. This time I wanted to keep that coppery tone but had some pink streaks because I wanted to do something fun. I'm not a hairdresser.
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_00] I don't know what is possible and what is not possible and I expect to be told if something can be done or not. Well today I walk into my appointment and from the minute I walk in she doesn't even remember scheduling my appointment. But then she does and she asks me to wait while she gets stuff ready. Then she is asking me if I am just getting a touch up of what I already have and I said no.
[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_00] I sent you a picture of what I wanted and she asks me to show it to her and I do and she takes a look at the picture and says that she can't do it. I'm surprised because she had not said anything in the messages or told me it wasn't possible. I tell her that I sent her a picture in a video of my hair as well as the picture of what I wanted and she didn't say anything about not being able to do it. She then starts acting as if she had never seen a picture of my hair before.
[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_00] I pull up the messages and show her and she says well it must have just slipped my mind to tell you and tells me to go look for something else I want. At this point I'm not even in a chair yet. I'm just standing there. I go over to the waiting area and I'm on Pinterest trying to find something and I'm very upset. I was set on getting this hair color today. I didn't even look at anything else. I have no clue what I want and I don't want to pick something in a rush and then not like it.
[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_00] I also just feel that her as a hairdresser she should have made suggestions to me about what I can do because I didn't want to pick something that also wasn't possible. I look for a bit but can't decide and so I go up to her and say that I'll just come back another day because I do not know what I want. She's taken her back and says yeah okay we just can't do that you need to pick another one.
[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_00] So I tell her I completely understand and I'm not upset about not being able to do it but I am upset because she asked for pictures of my hair and the hair I wanted and scheduled my appointment and then told me I could not do it. I told her it would have been nice to have been told she couldn't do it over text because now I feel disappointed and rushed to pick something else. She keeps talking about how she just can't get my hair pink and can't give me what I want and to just pick something else.
[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_00] I tell her I get it and I have no problem with that and that my problem was the fact that she didn't tell me two weeks ago. She then says well what do you want me to do? I can still do your hair but you are leaving. Now I'm very sensitive and was close to tears so I just said thank you for your time and walked out and I'm now wondering if I overreacted. I'm very sensitive so it was a huge deal. Should I have just sucked it up and picked something new like she said?
[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_00] I have also nothing but good experiences before this and have no issue with not getting the pink in my hair. I just hated feeling rushed and not being told beforehand. Am I overreacting? Absolutely not overreacting. That was hugely unprofessional. I mean the frustration isn't about the hair color being impossible. It's just about basic communication and again being professional.
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_00] She had two weeks and all the information, the pictures that you gave her and she just needed to say hey this won't work with your current hair color but here are some alternatives we could discuss. You know that's a professional way to deal with things right? Instead what did she do? Forgot your appointment existed. Acted like she had never seen the pictures despite you showing her evidence. Bloody cheeky sod. And dismissed it as slipping her mind. Then expected you to immediately pivot to a completely different look on the spot. I mean what the fuck was that?
[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_00] That is not how professionals operate. You walking out when you felt rushed and overwhelmed. Completely understandable and absolutely the right decision rather than picking something on the spot and then regretting it later. And let me tell you there's nothing wrong with being sensitive. It's actually what helped you in this situation. But now find a hairdresser that actually respects your time because that certainly isn't it. Bloody hell I never thought I'd get so heated over a hairdressing story before.
[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_00] Sally Truthless says you're not overreacting. This hairstylist is wildly unprofessional. You discuss what you wanted her to do at length prior to your appointment complete with pictures and video. You show up and she forgot that she scheduled you. Which was the first red flag. And two she immediately says she can't bleach highlights and throw some pink dye on it. Pretty absurd. She sounds like a rinky dinky hairstylist. I love it when people say rinky dink.
[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_00] What is her salon out of her garage or something? Looks like she lost a client. If I were you I would never go back. I'm glad you didn't get guilt tripped into paying her anything for her time or some BS. She deserves a bad review. I'm sorry you were hella disappointed today. And just one more because we got a professional coming in. Calgary says stylist here. It was incredibly unprofessional of her not to inform you what you wanted won't be possible. By the way that's bullshit.
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_00] If you have light copper colored hair it's entirely possible to lighten it enough to put pink in. If you add black or dark brown that'd be more difficult. And would take more than one lightening session. But what would you do in this situation if it was you? How would you react? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below. And let's have another story. Now our next story comes from BusyManor5710 from the Am I Overreacting subreddit.
[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_00] And it says daughter's father told me that he woke in the night to her crying and that I did not wake. I checked the baby monitor and this never happened. Am I overreacting to be fuming? This is my first post so apologies for any mistakes. My daughter recently turned 2 and her father stayed in my home the night before. And so asked to see her the morning of her birthday. He does not have her on his own or at his address. His choice. And does not see her very regularly.
[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_00] But she does love him and I knew that she would want to see him on her birthday. We separated shortly after she was born. When I discovered he had been having an affair and things have been strained since. However I would like to co-parent well and felt this gesture maybe a step in the right direction. On the morning of her birthday he woke up late and when I asked why. Given that the point was to spend time with her. He said that he was exhausted as he had been up all night comforting her. As she had been crying most of the night inconsolably.
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_00] He said that he could not believe that I had slept through it and had not heard her calling for me. I was distraught that I would have not heard my daughter. She has her own room but I sleep with both of our doors open and the baby monitor beside me. I felt like the worst mother in the world who ignored her crying and calling for me. And a failure as a parent for not waking up to her cries. I was absolutely ashamed and devastated. He proceeded to lecture me while I cried and commented. He was thankful he was there or she would have cried all night.
[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_00] After I had calmed down I thought to check the recording on the baby monitor as it records constantly while plugged in. And throughout the entire night she did not stir once. I was flabbergasted. I confronted him immediately. And at first he stuck to his story. When presented with the evidence he then claimed that he must have dreamt the whole thing and that I needed to let it go. But I cannot let it go. I feel that he made up this lie to make me question myself as a mother and cause me pain.
[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_00] He has a history of lying and manipulation which I thought I could look past for the sake of peaceful parenting. But of all of the things he has done this feels unforgivable. It seems incredibly cruel and unnecessary. I've not spoken to him since and I'm struggling to imagine how to communicate going forward as I'm so angry. Am I overreacting to this situation or am I justified in my anger? And of course absolutely not the arsehole. He gaslit you.
[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_00] Told you a lie with the intention of it to make you feel like a terrible mother. Which it succeeded in some part as well when you were crying. And then when actually confronted with it you showed him evidence of this. He couldn't apologize. He just said he must have dreamt it and moved on. Absolute bullshit. And I'd be truly concerned about that behavior at the same time. And not allow this guy in your house anymore. Because it sounds like you've been nothing but just trying to have a healthy co-parenting relationship.
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_00] And he's just not capable of that. He will lie. He will manipulate. He's already cheated on you in the past. It's the kind of person he is. But Glad Pineapple says he didn't dream it. He lied then guilt tripped you. That's not someone who wants to co-parent. That's someone who wants control. You're right to be angry. Optimal says you're justified and this man should not be allowed to stay in your house. That kind of lying and manipulating is alarming. He knew what he was doing.
[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_00] Bao says oh horrible manipulative and narcissistic behavior. This triggered me as I have a similar experience with my child's father. Who has been absent for the last three and a half years now. Believe me keeping the peace doesn't really get you anywhere in these situations. Because they still try to manipulate and control you through your children. I was on the verge of breaking point. And had to put an end to all of it. So it went to a lawyer. Needless to say he didn't fight very hard to have a relationship with my child in the end.
[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_00] And quite frankly we are both far better off without him around. Please be careful. One more comment who says. Not overreacting at all. He was either sleeping in for some reason and came up with this on the spot when confronted. Or you're completely right in your assumption of him manipulating you into feeling like a lesser mother. Either way. He's lying to you about something. And should not be using your child as a pawn. In dealing with whatever personal issue he may have against you. If you decide to co-parent with him.
[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_00] This will become a regular thing in both yours and your daughter's life. Bloody hell. But what do you guys make of this situation? How would you deal with it? Is that someone that you'll be able to have around you? Have a co-parenting relationship with? I know that has to happen in some form. But a healthy one at that. But is it ever going to be a healthy one? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below. Just a huge thank you for being here today. Getting involved in the stories. Your love.
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_00] Your support. Your time. It always means the absolute world to me. So thank you so so much for being here. And hopefully I'll see you in the next one. Take care. And much love.
[00:31:41] Take care. Wake up. Get up. Stretch my face.
[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_00] Brush my teeth up. Watch my face. I can smell the smoke from...
